The New Flex Classic Giraffe WSE 500 Drywall Sander - Carry Case Optional

With the new Classic-Giraffe WSE 500, the proven Giraffe WS 702 VEA has been logically further developed. Along with an increase in the motor power rating to 500 watt for a high removal rate, all components have been further developed for robustness and long service life. The proven universal-joint-mounted sanding head is equipped with a new backing pad with 10-hole extraction. The backing pad is available in three hardness grades. In conjunction with FLEX safety vacuum cleaners the FLEX extraction system of course ensures an almost dust-free working environment.

Notable Points

  • Super soft sanding pad with perforation for dust extraction (on the standard equipment). Ideal for finishing surfaces. The soft sanding pad acts as an additional cushion and replaces the elaborate mat under conventional sanding discs. This feature saves costs for sanding discs.
  • The spring-mounted brush ring on the extraction hood prevents unintentional scoring on placing in contact. The flexible brush ring ensures optimal dust extraction.
  • The extraction between the brush ring and the 10-hole extraction prevents the abrasive clogging quickly and permits dust-free, healthy working.
  • Robust joint between support pipe and oval pipe with sleeve fastening for high stability.
  • Three backing pads with velcro system are available: The very flexible "soft backing pad" (on the standard equipment) permits sensitive working and as a result avoids undesirable sanding marks. For higher removal rates during rough sanding, the "medium backing pad" and "hard backing pad" are available with different hardnesses.
  • Reliable power transmission and high flexibility due to the flexible drive shaft from the motor to the sanding disc. Decades of proven "FLEX technology". Due to this design principle the weight at the head of the Giraffe is reduced to a minimum. This feature eases handling.
  • The universal-joint-mounted sanding head ensures high flexibility and optimal adaptation on sanding walls and ceilings.
  • The oval guide tube and the optimally positioned motor make it easier to handle and guide the machine.
  • Powerful 500 watt motor with overload protection and controlled constant speed.
  • Large extraction cross-section, securely and quickly connected using the FLEX clip system. No adapter or reducer sleeve required.
  • Regulated rotational speed for the right sanding speed.
  • Dust and knock-protected on/off switch.

The Flex WSE500 Drywall Sander (Flex code 381.306) is the long standing most popular drywall sander on the market. It has replaced the old Classic FLEX WS 702 VEA model and is known as the new 'Classic' drywall sander. It is commonly used on building sites throughout the UK and Europe and is widely popular due to the perfect spring suspension in the head which allows the sanding head itself to adjust to any unevenness. This helps with the sander making gentle contact with the wall or ceiling and also only allows minimal dust to escape, which is always an advantage on the Health and Safety Conscious sites of today.

The Flex WSE500 also has VE electronic control: with constant speed control and speed pre-selection with adjusting wheel. The dust extraction system is second to none and fits harmoniously with the WSE500. It is called the Flex VCE35LAC Dust Extractor and can be found below. The 10-hole extraction ports prevents premature clogging of the abrasive and promotes a healthy, dust-free working environment. Both the Flex WSE500 Drywall Sander and the Flex VCE35LAC are available in 110 and 240 volts.

For the first time with the unique unique Vario-Giraffe WST 700 VV  there is now a long-neck sander - equipped with a unique interchangeable head system - which can 'stretch'. Along with sanding large surfaces, the innovative triangular sanding head has now also made it possible to seamlessly sand up to edges and into corners. Without the need for a ladder or scaffolding. This allows for a direct finish of the corners and edges. The work of painters, drywall constructors, plastering specialists and many other trades was revolutionised with the introduction by FLEX of the first Giraffe WS 702 VEA long-neck sander for wall and ceiling working in Europe in 1997.  The FLEX Giraffe is the world's most widely-sold long-neck sander.

Great sander perfect for loads of applications on site. Personally think it should come with a case but this is about 100 quid more which is way too pricey
