I have been pleased with the experience of my Clarke 1200W Inverter generator. It was the best price among the many I trawled on the 'net. I have a small yacht on the East Coast and I needed electricity for a variety of reasons - Laptop, microwave, fan heater etc. 1kW has met my needs nicely. It even has a 12v battery top-up feature! I would emphasis that anyone wanting to use a generator that includes IT purposes MUST use an Inverter model as the output is as smooth as a domestic supply. Non-inverter types are cheaper but the output is 'lumpy' and not smooth enough for IT purposes. When purchasing one for general purpose use, be aware that induction motors have a higher starting current than brush types. This must be taken into account when sizing your generator choice. The 1200W machine is quiet running, even when running at full load it's not overly intrusive. It's remarkably light for what it does and the design is nicely compact. As it is a recent purchase, I can't comment on long term reliability except to say I have had no problems other than of my own making (forgetting to turn the choke off!!).

Just what we wanted - although slightly noisier than anticipated. Used on weeks caravan trip and kept caravan battery and phones etc charged after using for about two hours daily. Would recommend. Would also recommend Sitebox - cheapest price and quick free delivery.
