This AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) suitable for fitting with the Hyundai DHY6000SE/SELR 'slenced' diesel generator range, as well as the petrol series HY6000LE, HY7000LEk and HY9000LEk.
The AVR monitors the output voltage of the alternator windings and adjusts the voltage feed to the rotor, via the brushes to ensure a constant 230v output, as typically generator loads can vary. The constant output voltage make this type of generator suitable for powering more sensitive personal equipment that needs a stable power supply, such as mobile phones, laptops, server racks, etc. Other types of generators use a capacitor to control the voltage. This type provides a less constant output voltage and can cause irreversible damage to this equipment.
