The narrow opening prevents operatives from falling through the opening when in use and allows plasterboard and other sheet materials to be passed straight up, without having to carry them up staircases.

Application:
Identify an area of the upstairs floor deck that has suitable clearance to move and stack material. Mark out and cut the installation slot in the deck. Place the hatch in the slot, and secure with suitable screws. Ensure that the lid of the hatch is closed when not in use.
